How we are scaling poultry farming through collaboration
SAO Agro, in collaboration with the Ondo State Government, has implemented a youth empowerment initiative focused on the poultry value chain. The project functions as a commercial poultry operation, designed to develop a pipeline of skilled operators by integrating skills development and production activities to equip participants with the technical and managerial capabilities needed for scalable agribusiness operations.
Currently, twenty-eight youth from Ondo South Senatorial District are operating within our commercial workflow, while gaining daily exposure to large-scale batch management, feeding formulation, growth optimization, biosecurity, hygiene procedures, disease prevention, production scheduling, harvest planning, market readiness, and post-cycle evaluation.
This arrangement places participants in our production system, not as casual farmhands, but as future operators and partners in agribusiness, enabling them to receive practical and hands-on training.
